Unconditional logistical regression analysis demonstrated that MLH1 2101CA was not associated with a significantly elevated risk of gastric cancer (P = 0.136, Table 2), but further stratified analysis by gender revealed that the risk associated with this variant genotype was significant in males (OR = 8.42, 95% CI = 1.04-68.06; P = 0.041). This evidence concerns the gene MLH1 and gastric cancer.
