In contrast, anti-VEGFR2 mAb delayed the day of onset and only decreased but did not prevent the incidence of hyperglycemia (Figure 3C), preventing MLDS induced diabetes in only 30% of treated mice (Figure 3D), indicating that blockade of VEGFR2 prevented insulitis to a much lesser extent compared to blockade of VEGFR3.
