AQP5 and Sjogren syndrome: Tsubota et al. [7] reported that in the LG of Sjögren’s syndrome patients, AQP5 was found to congregate within the cytoplasm rather than being transported to the membranes, which suggests that misprocessing of AQP5 might be involved in the pathogenesis of Sjögren’s syndrome, despite contrasting report from other researchers [10].
