AKT1 and hepatocellular carcinoma: In conclusion, the present study for the first time suggest an interaction of HCV Core 3a for regulating the genes involved in HCV pathogenesis which may provide a better understanding for genome-specific mechanisms involved in disease progression by regulating caspase pathways, Tumor suppressor gene p53 and Phosphorylation of Akt which directly or indirectly increases cell proliferation leading to HCC.
