TP53 and neoplasm: Its transcription is under the control of the tumour suppressor gene product p53 and it acts as a tumour suppressor inducing cell cycle arrest in G1-phase [9], [10], senescence and apoptosis [11]–[13] in osteosarcoma and breast, colon, lung and pancreatic cancer cell lines as well as in mouse tissues, such as colon, kidney, spleen and thymus.
