The observed impact of nuclear YB-1 on the clinical outcome is in line with data found in prostate cancer, non-small-cell lung carcinoma and B-cell lymphoma showing that YB-1 also is a cancer biomarker for tumour aggressiveness (Shibahara et al, 2001; Gimenez-Bonafe et al, 2004; Habibi et al, 2008; Xu et al, 2009). This evidence concerns the gene YBX1 and prostate carcinoma.
