CDK6 and neoplasm: Hypermethylation of miR-34a, a transcriptional target of p53, has been demonstrated in solid and hematopoietic cancers [8,9], whereas restoration of which will inhibit CDK6 translation by complementary binding to the 3' untranslated region (3' UTR) of the CDK6 mRNA and induce apoptosis, thereby showing the tumor suppressor role of miR-34a [8].
