The MYC oncoprotein is capable of conferring a selective advantage on cancer cells by stimulating proliferation, cell survival, differentiation blockade, genetic instability and angiogenesis, all of which may contribute to metastasis (Baudino et al, 2002; von Rahden et al, 2006; Gordan et al, 2007; Guffei et al, 2007; Vaque et al, 2008).
