Although one acceptable explanation is that alkalinization enhances the myoglobin (Mb) solubility [34] and that lipid peroxidation reactions are accelerated at acidic pH [35,36], a plausible alternative can be deduced from data presented here, suggesting that alpha-beta-unsaturated compounds condensation catalyzed at alkaline pH could reduce renal dysfunctions during rabdomyolisis. This evidence concerns the gene MB and Abnormal renal physiology.
