Given that H rats showed an enhanced corticosterone stress response after fear conditioning, we decided to gain insight into the possible mechanisms involved in the pathophysiology of hypothyroidism by analyzing the expression of mineralocorticoid and glucocorticoid receptors (MR and GR) in LA/BLA, an important region for glucocorticoids signaling involved in auditory fear memory [35]. This evidence concerns the gene NR3C2 and hypothyroidism.
