Using subcellular fractionation, Tombran-Tink et al [15] showed that endogenous PEDF was present in the cytoplasmic and nuclear fractions of retinal pigment epithelial cells (RPE), Y-79 retinoblastoma cells, NA neuroblastoma cells and hepatocarcinoma HepG2 cells. The gene discussed is SERPINF1; the disease is retinoblastoma.
