By considering the bistable switch behaviors, Aguda et al. [12] predicted that increasing miRNA level drives E2F/Myc level in normal cell cycle to enter the cancer zone (oncogene, case a), or drives protein levels to exit cancer zone and enter the cell apoptosis (tumor suppressor, case b), and vice versa (see Figure S2 or Figure 3 in [12]).
