Furthermore, even if used at a higher concentration (i.e., 250 μM) than the ones causing the highest extent of the LCA-induced proteolytic activation of caspase-3 and caspase-6 (i.e., 125 μM or 150 μM) in SK-n-MCIXC and BE(2)-m17 cells, LCA did not promote their proteolysis-driven activation in Lan-1 cells (Figs. 5 and 6), whose LCA-induced death was not due to apoptosis (see above).
