In these studies, an early stage [11-13], minimal residual tumor after the initial surgery [11-13], less than 100 cc of ascites [11,12], platinum-based chemotherapy [11,12], an AFP level less than 1,000 kU/L, and a non-EST histology were found to be significantly related to a more favorable prognosis [14].
