Figure 4.C. shows a rapid and significant increase in Foxp3 transcripts from day 3 pi, peaking by day 5 pi. To our knowledge, this is the first report on Treg cells within the peritoneal cavity of E. granulosus infected mice. Overall, results reported here suggest an active role for peritoneal T cells subpopulations during early experimental infection by E. granulosus. This evidence concerns the gene FOXP3 and infection.
