Functional magnetic resonance imaging (FMRI) in human stroke victims clearly demonstrates the involvement of both ipsilateral and contralateral hemispheres in recovery after stroke [7].This study reports, for the first time, that candesartan promotes the differential expression of both VEGFA and VEGFB and their receptors in the brain and may be responsible for the creation of a prosurvival state in both hemispheres after stroke. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFB and stroke disorder.
