It is probable that the rs1883832 T allele located at the Kozak consensus and that the rs4810485 T allele is located at intron 1, which may reduce CD40 expression on immune cell surfaces by hindering the stabilization of the mRNA-ribosome complex [14] and by inducing aberrant splicing, respectively, preventing immune cells from finding and eliminating precancerous cells, thus increasing the breast cancer risk. This evidence concerns the gene CD40 and breast cancer.
