In addition to more general cancer cell traits, central circuits in CRC like MAPK-, TP53-, and Phosphatidylinositol signaling systems, where usually one or a few prominent players are reported to be frequently altered at the DNA level (due to point mutations, amplifications, and/or deletions; [8], [16]), were found significantly deregulated in our analyses.
