In prostate cancer, there is conflicting evidence regarding the epigenetic regulation of Spry1, Spry2 and Spry4, with some authors showing that Spry2 and Spry4 are downregulated by hypermethylation [14], [15], although in a separate study no hypermethylation of the promoter region of Spry2 was identified [16].
