In a multiple logistic regression model involving both variables, elevated serum leptin level and sFlt-1/PlGF ratio were found to be independent predictors of preeclampsia (odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals: 9.16 (3.16-26.5) and 8.89 (3.34-23.7), respectively, p < 0.001 for both; after adjustment for BMI at blood draw: 5.03 (1.48-17.1), p < 0.05 and 11.3 (3.24-39.2), p < 0.001, respectively).
