We found that THRA, thyroid hormone receptor, not previously associated with any of the two diseases, is a shared interaction partner of Protein Hairless (HR, a putative single zinc finger transcription factor protein) involved in alopecia [49], and the Estrogen Receptor 1 (ESR1) associated with migraine [50], with a p-value of 1.17×10−3 (Materials and Methods). Here, ESR1 is linked to alopecia.
