In thyroidectomized patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC), it is believed that serum TSH >30 mU/L optimizes radioiodine trapping and retention and thyroglobulin (Tg) synthesis by neoplastic cells and is therefore necessary for reliable serum Tg testing and efficacious radioiodine therapy [1–4]. This evidence concerns the gene TG and differentiated thyroid carcinoma.
