In murine model of human RA, Pine et al. showed that R788(fostamatinib disodium), an oral prodrug that is rapidly converted to a potent and relatively selective inhibitor of Syk (R406) suppressed the severity of arthritis, bone erosions, pannus development and synovitis in murine collagen-induced arthritis (CIA)[26]. This evidence concerns the gene SYK and rheumatoid arthritis.
