Our results showed that calcium exerted its protective effect mainly by downregulating the expression of oncogenes such as S100a9, Mmp10, Adam8, and Ptgs2, by inhibiting the activity of tumor-associated pathways such as the Wnt and cell cycle pathway, and by negatively regulating cell proliferation, cell division, cell invasion, and angiogenesis. The gene discussed is MMP10; the disease is neoplasm.
