Therefore, present work aimed to examine the influence of murine schistosomiasis on some endothelium-related events such as leukocyte adhesion, migration and vascular permeability, and also the influence of the disease on the expression of the constitutive endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS; EC 1.14.13.39), whose product (nitric oxide, NO) inhibits leukocyte traffic and vascular permeability [15]–[17]. The gene discussed is NOS3; the disease is schistosomiasis.
