Expression of CCR5 and CXCR3 by effector T cells is reported to be important for trafficking to tumour sites as these receptors respond to a range of chemokines such as I-TAC, MIG, IP-10 (ligands for CXCR3) and RANTES, MIP-1α, MIP-1β, MCP-2 (ligands for CCR5) released by tumours and inflammatory tissue (Moser and Loetscher, 2001). The gene discussed is CXCL9; the disease is neoplasm.
