Plasma OPG concentrations were associated with carotid arterial disease in both univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis when adjusted for age, HbA1c and U-albumin creatinine ratio (adjusted OR: 2.12; 95% CI: 1.22-3.67; p = 0.008), but not peripheral arterial disease or myocardial ischemia (adjusted OR: 1.77; 95% CI: 0.97-3.22; p = 0.063 or adjusted OR: 1.26; 95% CI: 0.77-2.06; p = 0.364, respectively) (Table 3). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and peripheral arterial disease.
