The crosstalk between tumor cells, adipocytes, and immune cells within the tumors of the HFD-fed mice (Figure 3a) may have produced a broad variety of growth factors, cytokines, and chemokines, resulting in changes in the expression of proteins involved in the stimulation of cell-cycle progression of tumor cells (Ki67, PCNA, CDK2, CDK4, cyclin A, and cyclin D) and angiogenesis (VEGF) (Figure 2a-c, 3a). This evidence concerns the gene PCNA and neoplasm.
