Similar to the unexpected expression status of CD133[11], [25] and CD24[10] in pancreatic cell lines BxPC3 and PC3, divergent expression of CD133 in one certain cell line was also reported in ovarian cancer cell lines OVCAR3 and SKOV3 [26]–[28], which might at least partly due to some undetermined changes induced during long-term cultivation in vitro. This evidence concerns the gene CD24 and ovarian carcinoma.
