VEGFA and glioma: In summary, the present study shows that AsA- (a) inhibits HUVEC and HBMEC proliferation, invasion, migration and tube formation; (b) inhibits VEGF-stimulated cell proliferation and tube formation; (c) induces apoptosis by increasing expression of pro-apoptotic signaling molecules, while decreasing the expression of anti-apoptotic signaling molecules; (d) inhibits VEGF expression in glioma cells; and (e) strongly inhibits angiogenesis in vivo.
