Genetic features of PC-3 prostate cancer cells such as loss of PTEN, constitutive activation of PI3K/Akt pathway, overexpression of HIF-1α, p53 negativity make them an attractive model for studying the mode of action of HIF-1α inhibitors and they have been employed by several groups for such studies earlier [23-25]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and prostate cancer.
