We did not observe main effects or notable interactions for XRCC1 R399Q (rs25487), PARP1 [poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1] V762A (rs1136410), or OGG1 (8-oxoguanine DNA glycosylase) S326C (rs1052133), although some previous studies have observed phenotypic changes and altered prostate cancer susceptibility with genetic variation at these loci (Park et al. 2009). The gene discussed is PARP1; the disease is prostate cancer.
