TCF21 was aberrantly methylated and silenced in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and non-small-cell lung cancer [50]; C2orf40 was hypermethylated and transcriptional silenced in colorectal carcinoma and glioma, and its over-expression led to a significant decrease in cell growth [51]. This evidence concerns the gene TCF21 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
