Given that Evi1 has been suggested to be implicated in several carcinomas other than hematopoietic malignancies [107-111], deep insight into the function of Evi1 with regard to epigenetic regulation and signaling pathways may contribute to the development of molecularly targeted therapies for solid tumors such as colon cancer, lung cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and ovarian cancer. This evidence concerns the gene MECOM and ovarian carcinoma.
