Finally, since the SNPs in intron 2 of FGFR2 are mainly associated with estrogen receptor-positive (ER-positive) breast tumors [1,22], we studied a possible correlation between FGFR2 mRNA levels and ER status of the tumor in 50 patients, but could detect none (P = 0.60; logistic regression).
