Hookworm infection was significantly associated with higher IgE levels in 11–20 year-olds (β = 0.44, t = 2.85, p<0.01), individuals over forty (β = 0.25, t = 3.35, p<0.01), and in the overall sample (β = 0.23, t = 4.08, p<0.01). This evidence concerns the gene IGHE and ancylostomiasis.
