AURKA mRNA level showed variability according to histological subtypes with the highest expression in squamous cell carcinomas (mean log2(FC) = 2.7, p << 0.01) and in large cell carcinomas (mean log2(FC) = 2.25, p << 0.01) followed by adenocarcinomas (mean log2(FC) = 1.5, p = 0.02) and bronchioloalveolar/in situ carcinomas (mean log2(FC) = 0.28, p = 0.4) (Figure.2, panel A). This evidence concerns the gene AURKA and adenocarcinoma.
