The promoter SNP g.-131(C > G) in the CHI3L1 gene was associated with elevated serum YKL-40, asthma, bronchial hyper responsiveness and pulmonary function [44,45], and with elevated serum YKL-40 and the severity of hepatitis C virus-induced liver fibrosis [43]. This evidence concerns the gene CHI3L1 and Hepatic fibrosis.
