It has been recognized for several years that a strong correlation exists between the risk of developing ovarian cancer and conditions such as infertility and menopause [7-9], which lead to increased exposure to the pituitary hormones, luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), thus targeting the gonadotropins as putative choices when investigating new therapy options, a topic that has been reviewed [6,10]. This evidence concerns the gene PLOD1 and ovarian cancer.
