Although the number of the EGFR positive breast cancer cases is too small to allow for any correlation with clinical, pathologic or molecular variables, the presence of two "metaplastic" carcinomas out of three EGFR positive cases is in keeping with what has already been reported in the literature that approximately 70-80% of metaplastic breast carcinomas overexpress EGFR [12]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is breast cancer.
