Several publications on the role of EVI1 in hematopoietic diseases showed that this protein not only affects factors that control normal hematopoiesis such as RUNX1, GATA1, and PU.1 [14]–[16], but also deregulates two critical signaling networks controlled by TGF-beta and IFN-alpha [12], that influence cell growth and differentiation in the bone marrow. The gene discussed is GATA1; the disease is hematologic disorder.
