Several publications on the role of EVI1 in hematopoietic diseases showed that this protein not only affects factors that control normal hematopoiesis such as RUNX1, GATA1, and PU.1 [14]–[16], but also deregulates two critical signaling networks controlled by TGF-beta and IFN-alpha [12], that influence cell growth and differentiation in the bone marrow. This evidence concerns the gene SPI1 and hematologic disorder.
