Therefore, these genes are anti-epileptic drug targets because we predict that they increase in importance under epileptic conditions and are part of the same pathway as the known drug target, Sv2a. However, there are other genes that are also highly dysregulated, but are not known to function in synaptic vesicle transport, such as Ppp2ca. These genes also warrant further study into both their possible role in synaptic vesicle trafficking, as well as the possibility that they are drug targets for epilepsy.
