EGFR gene amplification was present in 29.0% (20/69) of gastric cancers, including 34.1% (14/41) of patients with lymph node metastases and 10.7% (3/28) of patients without lymph node metastases, again representing a significant difference (P < 0.05). Here, EGFR is linked to metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
