Our findings showed conclusively that colchicines, CMQ and FMQ offer bifunctional anti-tumor protection in a B16 melanoma model in rodents: First, these chemicals upregulate tumor DAMP, and cause immunogenic cell death of tumors; second these MDAs strongly augment tumor antigen presenting function of mature DC, which in turn orchestrate CD4- and CD8-mediated tumor destruction. The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is melanoma.
