Previously, the multiethnic Hawaiian Ovarian Cancer Study evaluated four single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the ESR2 gene, as well as their associated haplotypes, in relation to risk of borderline and invasive ovarian cancer and found that rs1271572 in the promoter region of the gene may be an ovarian carcinoma susceptibility marker [11]. This evidence concerns the gene ESR2 and ovarian carcinoma.
