These studies are ongoing in our laboratory and their results along with those from other potential studies examining aspects such as the respective SHP-2- and PLCβ1 binding site characteristics, likely will significantly expand the number and complexity of the signaling pathways through which Ang II signals and thereby might provide new potential targets of therapy for diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, in which Ang II plays a major role.
