GPT and steatosis: When, we compared ALT levels between individuals with no liver damage vs patients with diagnosis of steatosis we observed a significant increase in transaminase levels (27.3 ± 14.5 vs 37 ± 26.7 U/L respectively, P = 0.009) with a significant correlation (p < 0.005), confirming alanine transaminase as a reliable marker of liver injury in our population.
