Three stealth siRNA constructs (Invitrogen) were made starting at bases 1104, 1315, and 1490 of the GIRK1 sequence (GenBank # NM_002239) to knockdown GIRK1 levels in the MDA-MB-453 breast cancer cell line used extensively in previous research in our laboratory (Plummer et al. 2004; Dhar and Plummer, 2006). This evidence concerns the gene KCNJ3 and breast cancer.
