Four genes, trabecular meshwork inducible glucocorticoid response (MYOC/TIGR), human dioxin-inducible cytochrome P450 (CYP1B1), optineurin (OPTN), and WD repeat domain 36 (WDR36), have been identified as glaucoma-causing genes [8], with MYOC being the first identified POAG gene [9]. The gene discussed is MYOC; the disease is open-angle glaucoma.
