SPINK5 and Alzheimer disease: While both the microarray data (Fig. 7A) and the model behaviours (Fig. 8) consistently showed low KLK5 production rate in AD especially at inflammatory states, the coherency of the model results with the previous data showing high KLK5 concentration for AD [13] was supported by our model results on the total concentration of all KLK5-related proteins (KLK5, KLK5*, and LEKTI-KLK5*), which ELISA [13] measures.
